Camille Pradon Oullins, b. 1993

Biography

Camille Pradon (b. 1993, France) develops a practice that articulates visual, conceptual, and critical approaches.

Through video and installation, photography, drawing, and ceramics, she shapes a formal language that plays on the porosity between media. The exploration of the image as “sensitive matter” lies at the heart of her practice, a materiality she works with in resonance with notions of displacement, intimate territories, and fragmentary narratives. Her works open up spaces of passage and dialogue — between surfaces and depths, between the outside and the inside, and between ancient, contemporary, and future times. Grounded in a documented, field-based approach, she creates images deeply rooted in the contexts she engages with, interpreted through the lens of ellipsis, whether temporal, narrative, or poetic. Something unfolds beyond the image, unspoken yet shaping the meaning of the work. This ongoing investigation reveals the ambiguity of our relationship with the visible, its multiple environments and shifting temporalities.

Her work is regularly presented in France and internationally, including at the Manchester Museum of Natural History (UK), Mucem (Marseille), Cité internationale des arts (Paris), Gabes Cinema Fen (Tunisia), Callirrhoë Gallery (Athens), and by the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles (Paris). She is laureate of international residency programs such as Villa Salammbô-Institut français Tunisie, Cité internationale des arts de Paris in 2020-2021, Nouveau Grand Tour-Institut français Italia (2021), Culture Moves Europe (2023), Résidences Transat'-Finis Terræ (2023) and Atopos Contemporary Visual Center in Athens (in 2023 and 2024). In 2024, she receives the Adagp Research Grant to work in Greece and is invited by the French Embassy for a creation residency at Auberge de France in Rhodes, which was followed by her first institutional solo exhibition in Greece in 2025.

As a writer and critic, her texts are published by the Frac Occitanie Montpellier, Le Magazine du Jeu de Paume, and Kyklàda Press. Camille Pradon graduated from the Higher School of Art and Design of Saint-Étienne in 2015, and studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, Italy.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of cneai = Art Centre.
